About Jakob

Jakob Spino is a tenor and vocologist based in Chicago, IL. He holds a Master’s of Music and Certificate in Vocology from the Jacobs School of Music. He specializes in the physiology of the voice and teaches safe, sustainable technique through tactile, actionable tools. His teaching is informed by multi-disciplinary training with both world-class voice pedagogues as well as ASHA certified speech language pathologists.

As a tenor, he has performed in musicals, rock bands, choirs, recitals, and operas including world premier collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera: The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (2025) and the world premier of the opera Anne Frank (2023) by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Shulamit Ran.

As a teacher, he aims to provide a strong, functional foundation for young singers and bring new ease and control to more experienced students.
